Where Am I?

My Expat-terns

28. Take advantage of your climate. If you are in a perpetually overcast location and the sun appears: Go out and enjoy it. The same goes for the rain. Enjoy your environment especially the surprises it gives.
119. You really should watch your belongings in Greece. Pickpocketing is no joke.
50. Touch your palm – it is warm. You are living, so live. Celebrate life’s intricacies and subtleties everyday whether you travel or not.
96. The acclimation process is different for everyone. It challenges each of us to ask ourselves exactly who we want.
85. Never steal anything from the VIP section of the club. Just never. This should go without saying, but you would be surprised by the stupidity and insolence of some individuals.
103. It is really unfortunate when you feel safer out of your country as a whole.
17. To swagger back conceited and contemptuous from an adventure is an ironic setback for us all.
26. Pack less than you expect you’ll need. You can still buy things when you’re abroad. Also, packing less may make you more sociable. You’ll have to interact, ask questions, and go out into the world in order to get what you want. It may be the necessary kick in your timid pants that you’ll need to start exploring your destination.
2. Avoid saying you’re American while trying to bargain abroad. It may be harder to get a good deal.
64. Contrary to popular belief, Americans aren’t the only obnoxious, monolingual travellers.
