Where Am I?

My Expat-terns

48. Sometimes life will lead you into a drum circle. Just accept it at this point.
94. As just a heads up, Turkish and Swahili are perfect languages in which to learn about affixes.
31. Frugality is fantastic. Don’t spend extra money that you don’t have to. If you are in a host family, perhaps just eat with them for free. It is always good to know exactly what you want to buy if you get souvenirs, and haggling can save you some dough. It takes work sometimes to spend less.
59. Nothing is more obnoxious than an entitled traveler, especially one who doesn’t even realize it or worse, doesn’t care.
51. You can find the brightest light even in the sheerest darkness. I promise.
45. Gaining certain alliances and supporting foreign nations demonstrates great levels of acceptance and fraternity on your behalf, but not everything you pick from other countries is always beneficial or politically correct. For example after living in Chile, I cannot stand the Argentine accent. The rivalry has been ingrained!
120. Greeks can be a little cliquey going out, unfortunately.
109. It is common in Rwandan culture to have one or two personal talents. What are your talents?
83. Go to countries where you really don’t understand a word; it is all the more thrilling.
35. The Québécois dialect has its own unique beauty. This is difficult for some to accept.
